The Shuswap region of the Thompson-Okanagan is a 4-season recreational mecca! Whether you are new to the area, or have been here your whole life, there is always something fun & exciting to do no matter the time of year.
We have world class boating on both Shuswap Lake and Little Shuswap Lake, and with over 1,450kms of combined shoreline you are sure to find your very own slice of paradise! You can grab a front row seat in Blind Bay to catch the Canada Day fireworks, grab a bite at the Shark Shack floating restaurant located in the Cinnemousun Narrows, spend August Long Weekend at Nielsen Beach on a houseboat, explore the arm-less-travelled Anstey for a quiet getaway, watch jumpers leap from the different cliff faces of Copper Island, and much more.
If you are looking to get off of the water for some R&R, visit any of the Shuswap's championship golf courses (Talking Rock Resort & the Quaaout Lodge, Shuswap Lake Estates, Salmon Arm Golf Club, or Shuswap National). Each track carries it's own special sauce, and provides a great alternative to being on the lake for the day.
Visit Chase, Blind Bay, Scotch Creek, or Salmon Arm for weekly concerts featuring local and out-of-area musicians. There are farmers markets in most communities around the lake that give awesome access to local artisans, of which there are plenty.
If action is more of your thing, try out the giant inflatable Zorb balls in Celista, or throw a helmet on and go riding on any of our many offroad trails ranging from beginner to expert.
In the winter, go snowmobiling at any Crowfoot Mountain or Fly Hills, or hit relatively close resorts like Sun Peaks and Silverstar for skiing and snowboarding!
